Windows Genuine Advantage

During the three or so months that I've had my new laptop, I've been forced by Microsoft to install the Windows Genuine Advantage checker three times. About once a month.

In other words, they force me to do a monthly install of software to verify that I actually paid for it. I could maybe accept that they need to run that check once--it would bother me deeply, but I could probably tolerate it.

Monthly installs that require me to reboot my computer, thus interrupting work, are completely beyond the pale. Microsoft, why are you making it harder for your paying customers to use their computers?
